Ron, the Carver
Who else
out of mere stone
could form the shape of life?
Who else but Ron
could make the clay
cling to your hand, alive
to your touch? Ron could –
the master carver
who felt in stone the rhythms
of the stars as they turn
and leaves as they fly
and yes the songs of birds
for he heard them, too, in the night,
along with the whispered words of love…
Yes, he carved love, too, into his rock,
and so made it live
within his hand.
