Poems: Love Poems

For Eleanor

On Our Eighteenth Anniversary

That gradual ache
growing into the seed of love
globed by the sun
broke the folds of the soil.
Oh my love
how I changed
riding the thin air
climbing the stem of cells
into the stellar cold
alone, rose
with hard knots
green flags
wind’s limbs
arrayed—
for you.
